Manhunt Intensifies in Louisiana After Jail Wall Break-Out Leaves One Violent Fugitive Still at Large

Three dangerous inmates escaped St. Landry Parish Jail in Opelousas early Tuesday, December 3, by chipping away deteriorating mortar, removing concrete blocks, and rappelling down with knotted sheets.

  1. Joseph Allen Harrington, 26, barricaded himself in a Port Barre home Wednesday night. After a SWAT standoff, he died by suicide with a stolen rifle.
  2. Johnathan Jevon Joseph, 24, was recaptured Thursday in Opelousas after a short foot chase.
  3. Keith Eli, 24, charged with attempted second-degree murder, remains on the run.
